Neal Steffens is the pen name for Stephen Wahlfeldt, whose prolific author wife co-opted the surname three novels ago. Covered Tracks is his debut novel after a real career in education.
Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, he fell in love with writing in 5th grade, when a fiction-writing assignment turned into an encore reading in front of the class. From there, it went downhill with time spent as a professional journalist and as a high school teacher.
Retirement brought him back to the joy of telling stories, writing side by side with his wife Mimi. Now, the search is on for an audience for these fiction tales.
